COLLIERVILLE, TN (WMC) -

Crews responded to a massive house fire in Collierville, near Halle Parkway and Houston Levee Road on Tuesday evening.

"We smelled all this smoke it was covering everywhere."

Horrified neighbors ran out of their houses in Halle Plantation to see the flames shooting out of the house. Firefighters say when they got on the scene, the fire was raging. The blaze burned for more than an hour.

"My daughter called and said 'Mom the neighbor's house is on fire,'" said Cleide Blackwell. "So I just came and I seen fire everywhere. I am so heartbroken for this family."

As firefighters poured water on the flames, Tine Williams, her fiance Bob Winterrowd and their housekeeper stood and watched in horror.

"It happened quite fast. The fire alarm went off and said get out. I went in the kitchen and told her and went upstairs to get Bob and he came," said Williams. "It was smoke first I saw, and then it was like the whole garage was full of smoke."

Winterrowd and his fiancee are grateful they got out, but it appears everything is gone.

"We're getting married in two weeks so that's good news and we're happy for that. The thing that's hard for me, and I know it will be for him, all the memories. He bought this house for his first wife, this was her dream home. All the pictures of her and the kids were in there and we needed to have that."
