(WMC-TV) – Investigators at the site of a morning train crash say no dangerous chemicals leaked out of the train cars.

Early Saturday morning, two freight trains crashed into each other at the rail yard at 2921 Old Horn Lake Road.

Four cars derailed from the tracks. Three of those cars carried dry grains, but one of them carried a chlorine residue.

After a thorough investigation, Memphis Fire Department Lieutenant Wayne Cooke tells Action News 5 none of the chlorine residue escaped the train car.

One responding police officer did go to Regional One Medical Center with respiratory problems, but he is in non-critical condition.

No workers on the trains or near the crash suffered any injuries.

The damaged trains belonged to the Canadian National Railway Company. We're told two of the cars were totaled. The other two will be returned to service.
